Homes Made from Shipping Containers More Affordable!

Shipping container homes are starting to pop up everywhere around the country. They’re not only more affordable but they’re durable and look like a regular home if done properly.

At Converted Containers, we have perfected the art of building homes from shipping containers. We can build you a lavish home for a fraction of the price you’d pay for a regular home.

How we do it!

You might be asking yourself how this is possible. We do it by converting water-tight shipping containers from metal structures into single crates or multi-container masterpieces for residential housing projects and office buildings. Of course, that includes outfitting units with proper ventilation, plumbing, electrical lighting and so on.

We use two standard sizes of shipping containers to build a house – one that’s 160-sq. ft. and another that’s 320-sq. ft. These can be connected or stacked to build the house of your dreams. In addition to the cost of the containers, you’ll pay for labor and for the necessary modifications needed to make the container livable.

Keep in mind, this is a job for a professional. While it’s possible to build your own shipping container home, there’s a lot of planning that goes into it such as obtaining home building permits and the hiring of architects and drafters. At Converted Containers, we take care of all of that for you.

Benefits

What’s fun about building a home from shipping containers is that the skies the limit when it comes to design. It allows you to be creative. You can end up with a house that looks like one you’d find in any neighborhood or one that’s a little more modern or unusual such as a treehouse.

Shipping containers last a long time and require very little maintenance. Since all containers have been shipped over water, they’re water-tight and very durable.

One of the biggest advantages of letting Converted Containers build you a shipping container home is that they’re environmentally friendly. Steel is used in each recycled shipping container; therefore, eliminating the need for bricks, mortar and wood.

Another big advantage of a shipping container home is that they can be built incredibly fast off site and delivered to your location ready to move in to.

Cargo Container Kitchens

Converted Shipping Containers are cropping up everywhere these days. These water-tight, secured units have what seems like an endless array of uses.  They offer entrepreneurs a quick and affordable way of starting or expanding a business. They offer artists a place to both show and store their work. They offer home buyers options galore and they give the agricultural community a way to grow, process and safely store their goods.

Our favorite use is regulation kitchens. The interior of our kitchen units include all stainless steel appliances, easy to clean surfaces, removable rubber flooring, and high quality lighting. The exterior can be configured in an almost limitless number of ways.  From a roadside barbecue or taco house to a full scale restaurant with modern lines and expandable capacity, we are capable of giving you both function and vision in a virtually unheard of turn-around time.

We understand that restaurants operate on thin margins and we KNOW that you will begin to see a ROI much faster using our units. Why? Because these units can be delivered much quicker than any conventional or modular build. They come to ready for inspection and, if need be, they can be transported to a new location that better serves your clientele. Talk about service! Plus, converted shipping containers have the clean lines that appeal to younger or more adventurous types and, they fit into small or oddly shaped spaces.

Our professional staff is trained in all aspects of retrofitting shipping or cargo containers. That means the electrical and plumbing systems are done right the first time. The interior is water-tight (remember these used to be used to ship goods over water), and we use top-quality ventilation systems to ensure air quality and proper circulation. We also think before we act. That means we consider things like ease of use, ease of cleaning and clearance requirements. We want you to succeed. Plus, we look good when you do :).
